The wait is over. Oracle is rolling out EDM version 26.04 to all test pods tonight, and this release is packed with meaningful upgrades that make data management more flexible, visual, and intelligent. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s landing in your environment.
Granular Templates — More Control Over What You Export
One of the most requested features is finally here. Granular Templates give you the ability to select specific artifacts — such as validations and properties — rather than exporting an entire template in bulk.

What’s new:
Cleaner, leaner exports tailored to exactly what you need
Pick and choose individual artifacts within a template
Select properties tied to a specific application and node type

⚠️ Important: If a dependent artifact doesn’t exist in the target application, the import will fail. Always make sure all dependent artifacts are exported before attempting an import.

Visualize Request Actions in a Viewpoint Download
Understanding what changed in a request just got a whole lot easier. You can now visualize request actions directly within a downloaded viewpoint file, giving you a color-coded, at-a-glance view of every action taken.

How to use it:
- Initiate your viewpoint download as usual
- When prompted, select Yes for Request Visualization
- Open the downloaded file — rows will be highlighted in colors that correspond to each action code
No more cross-referencing separate logs. The story of your request is right there in the file.

Drill Across Node References — Break Out of the Single-Application Boundary
Previously, when selecting a node in a property, you were limited to nodes within the same application. That limitation is now gone. Drill Across Node References lets you point to nodes from any application in your environment.
How it works:
- Select the application you want to reference
- Choose the dimension, node set, and viewpoint
- Select the specific members from the viewpoint
This opens the door to richer cross-application data relationships without any workarounds.

Find Method for Descendants — Smarter Node Discovery
The Descendants function now includes a Find method, allowing you to search for all descendant nodes that match a specific property value — not just browse them.
Example use case: Need to locate all descendant nodes with a Japanese description? Simply apply the Find method with your target property value and let EDM surface every matching node in the hierarchy instantly.
This is a significant time-saver for large hierarchies where manual browsing simply isn’t practical.

Change Management AI Assistant — Ask Oracle, Get Answers
The headline feature of this release is the Change Management AI Assistant, powered by Oracle’s Ask Oracle chatbot. It’s now embedded directly in your Change Management workflow.
Getting started:
- Click the Ask Oracle button to launch the chatbot
- Type your questions in natural language — no special syntax required
- Ask about processes, best practices, or the status of specific requests
Whether you’re a new user trying to understand a workflow or a veteran chasing down a request update, the AI Assistant is available on demand, right where you need it.

examples are shown below.

We can also inquire about request in the chatbox.
